My kids love making s’mores but when we can’t go camping we make this recipe (secretly I like these better than real s’mores, but nothing can take the place of the fun of sitting around the campfire MAKING s’mores). These gooey treats use the same ingredients in regular s’mores, but are perfect to make on a cold, blustery day.
Ingredients
1 cup of butter or margarine, softened
1½ c of sugar
2 eggs
1½ tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 c all purpose flour
1 c graham cracker crumbs
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
3 Large Milk Chocolate Bars (4.4oz)
5 cups mini marshmallows
Instructions
Pre-heat oven to 350*.
Cream butter and sugar until well blended in a large bowl. Add eggs, vanilla and combine. Mix in flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking powder and salt. Press ½ the dough into greased 9x13 pan. Bake for 13-15 min or until golden brown.
Break up and arrange unwrapped milk chocolate bars evenly over baked dough. Sprinkle marshmallows and crumble the rest of the dough mixture over the top of the chocolate layer.
Bake 10-15 min until slightly brown. Cool and cut into bars. Make 2 dozen.
